American Association of Suicidology (AAS)
AAS is a membership organization for all those involved in suicide prevention and intervention as well as those who have been affected by suicide. AAS is a leader in the advancement of scientific and programmatic efforts in suicide prevention through research, education and training, the development of standards and resources, and survivor support services.
American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP)
This non-profit is dedicated to understanding and preventing suicide through research, education, and advocacy. Visit their directory to find a support group near you or search for an online support group.
Bereaved Parents of the USA (BP/USA)
A national non-profit self-help group that offers support, understanding, compassion, and hope, especially to the newly bereaved who are struggling to rebuild their lives after the death of a child, grandchild, or sibling.
Children's Bereavement Center
Provides peer support groups and education for children and their families grieving the death of a loved one free of charge. The Center also extends supportive services and resources to families, caregivers, schools, and communities. Located in Miami, FL.
Erika's Lighthouse is dedicated to raising awareness about adolescent depression and mental health for young people. At the core of their mission is the Red Flags Program, a comprehensive adolescent depression awareness program for middle school students.
Families for Depression Awareness
Families for Depression Awareness is a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to help families recognize and cope with depressive disorders to get people well and prevent suicides. The organization offers an educational web site, free brochures, family and expert profiles, and outreach to those affected by depressive disorders.

A national not-for-profit organization that provides a monthly newsletter to those who have lost a loved one by suicide.

LOSS (Loving Outreach to Survivors of Suicide) Program
A support group for those who are grieving a death by suicide of a family member or close friend. The LOSS program is a non-denominational program offered by the Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago.
National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)
NAMI is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness. NAMI seeks to educate the public on mental illness and is an advocate of the mentally ill by bringing their problems to the attention of local, state, and federal governments.
